I am playing around with hibernate in an attempt to learn it. I would like to create a DAO layer for my portlets and use hibernate versus straight sql. I am using MS SQL Server and Tomcat as an app server. I would like to not use connection pooling through Tomcat. Most examples I have read online use Conn Pooling. Does anyone have a code snippet from hibernate.properties where they are accessing a MS SQL Server DB without using conn pooling?
Thanks.

So do you want "no connection pooling at all" or "no connection pooling through Tomcat"?

I guess I am not sure. I think what would work best is to set up a datasource in Tomcat for my application. (I am trying to avoid as much application server setup as possible since I am building a portlet for a very large project). Does a Tomcat datasource automatically create a datasource? What do you recommend?

Thanks!

Try 100 things. 2 will work out, but you will never know in advance which 2. This tiny ad might be one:
