Rather than cool, we're kinda looking for a certain style of community here. When a name gets "too cool", then it starts to give other people ideas on how they need to demonstrate their idea of cool. Which makes other people want to be even cooler. And then we're deep in the world of aliases, which is what we don't want.
It seems that the stricter we are about this point, the less work we have in the long run. And since I prefer that the JavaRanch staff spend more time talking about
Java and less time talking about the naming policy, I think being super strict about the naming policy is best for the community.
