just a simple question to the mods....does my name comply with the naming standards or should I change it??? MRM actually is the initials of my name....M Ram Mohan & zooter is my nick.....

I think "mrm" might give other people ideas about playing games with their names, so I would say "no".
"Zooter" also sounds made up, so I would have to say the same thing.
"Ram Mohan" sounds good. How about that?

Rather than cool, we're kinda looking for a certain style of community here. When a name gets "too cool", then it starts to give other people ideas on how they need to demonstrate their idea of cool. Which makes other people want to be even cooler. And then we're deep in the world of aliases, which is what we don't want.
It seems that the stricter we are about this point, the less work we have in the long run. And since I prefer that the JavaRanch staff spend more time talking about Java and less time talking about the naming policy, I think being super strict about the naming policy is best for the community.
