What's the maximum message size for the SOAP client? like 1MB, 2MB or ....Is it same for server as well as client? ALso, what's the best link for a quick SOAP tutorial or how to write a SOAP client in Java?

Thanks

In theory, there's no limit.
But in practice, it depends on the response time you want to have, the bandwith between your client and your server, and so on so forth.

1MB of text (XML)is......huge. If you can avoid it and find another solution, do not hesitate (more fine-grained services maybe ?)

For help on SOAP clients, check Axis documentation and user guide
