regarding Asynchronous request-response feature

While making an asynchronous call to a web service,We have a client web service in the middle of stand alone client and the end web service.kindly,tell me who will implement that web service,because that is the only thing which is serving the asynchronous call.If client will implement that,it is too much or if server developers will implement that ,than i think asynchronous call is not being made between client and server and the sole purpose of asynchronous call is not solved.
