I am currently investigating the use of the WSIF framework to invoke WSDL based services. What I like about it is that a client can be implementation independant.

However, one concerning aspect of WSIF is the lack of development. It looks like its last release (2.0) was circa 2003/2004. Has it reached the end of its road? Will there be further releases (for example to include topic messaging for JMS)?

Given this background, is WSIF a wise choice of framework longer term if it appears to have very little support and development?

I would really appreciate any insight with this.

Thanks,

Stuart
