getting rid of html escape characters from xml

I am getting an input xml file, which I am passing to java.io.File.
I am then parsing it with Factory.parse.
My problem is due to escape sequences of html that comes with the xml document. Is there a way I can get rid of that?

write a parser of your own and get rid all o' them
