Upto what extent J2ME can control Audio channel ?
I mean, can it get control over audio socket and play around with that ?
can i play MP3 (small) or some other audio files on J2ME ?

The MIDP spec does not include support for mp3 or other audio formats. Vendors may include their own OEM APIs, but I don't think we'll be seeing APIs for this in the US anytime soon.
