Samsung device display problems - TextBox and Alert

In my midlet, when a user selects some text on my canvas, a TextBox is opened. The problem is that when the TextBox is closed and the canvas re-shown, the title of the TextBox still shows on the display, obscuring the canvas.

This also happens after an Alert is shown and dismissed.

I notice that Opera Mini doesn't have these problems with TextBox - does anyone know how to solve?

Thanks,
James
