Applet Communication Between HTML Frames

Is there a way to share objects between Applets running in separate frames in Netscape? I am using an Observer / Observerable type pattern where multiple Applets can register with a common Applet, but I'm trying to load all Applet's in separate HTML frames. It works in IE, but not in Netscape.
