scjp exam

Hi,Iam planning to go for scjp exam.as u all know sun offers two exams,one java1.2 and the other is java1.4
Iam not in a position to make a decision whether to go for java1.2 or java1.4
Is there any major difference in them apart from course contents?

there are many noble here , who will answer you in a jiffy...but i didnt see any answer...so replying..
I suggest you do a search for these exams on java.ranch..and you will find surely more than one discussions on which exam to choose!..

Praveena -
I am sure to get some flak but I'd definitely say take the 1.4 ! Our understanding is that the 1.2 is about to be retired by Sun, and it is relatively old ("these are internet times - baby").
I also think that while the questions are a bit harder than the ones on 1.2, the objectives are more focused. Personally, I'd prefer to study for the 1.4 than the 1.2 - not having to study AWT and I/O is a big relief!

I would suggest you to take 1.4 exam than 1.2.I would recommend you to refer Kathy and Bert's book for SCJP certification which i find the best book for certification.
