Upgrade exam or SCJP1.4

I took SCJP 1.2 long back.
Now I want to take SCJP 1.4
But I am not sure whether I should take upgrade exam or just SCJP1.4
Upgrade exam has only 33 questions(3% per question)
whereas normal exam has 61.(1.7% per question)
That means one wrong answer in upgrade exam to that in normal exam will result in different scores.
Any suggestions??

Go for just the standard 1.4, unless you're fully confident in basics already. You said "way back". Maybe you're a little rusty with the nuances and it's better off to take the full exam.

I would actually recommend the other side -- if you decide to do the upgrade exam, study just as hard as if you were gonna take the full exam, but save your money! They offer an upgrade exam for a reason.
..... now on the other side of the coin, check out this thread: Anyone taken the upgrade exam yet???
(basically... it might be a better idea to take the SCJD exam instead of upgrading to 1.4 ....)
