Well it really depends upon you. Personally I have taken the 1.4 exam and I guess most of the people also take the same(guessing by the no. of posts for 1.4 material and 1.2 material). The 1.4 exam is new and secondly, personally I feel that it has less no. of objectives to study. That is the course to study is less.
Well, i bought quite a bit of stuff (books, CDs, etc) for the Java 1.2 exam a while back. But never had the time to study properly for the exam and now 1.4 has come out. But since all my stuff is on 1.2, I'll just take 1.2 rather than spend more $$ upgrading my study material.

That's exactly what I did... Basically skip the chapters that have to deal with I/O and AWT and find some extra Assertions study material on the web. Check out this information provided by Khalid and Rasmussen in order to prepare for the 1.4 exam if you are using their 1.2 book. [ July 07, 2003: Message edited by: Jessica Sant ]
