Hello!!
I want to take the SCJP exam but dont know which book to use to prepare for it. I started working with Java a couple of months back and now know the basics. Although I have written tiny programs, I have never done any extensive programming in Java.
Thus:
Which book should I use to prepare for the SCJP exam?
-Please suggest a book, which is designed for a beginner and will also help me in preparing for the exam "hopefully passing it" .
AND
How much time do I need to prepare for the exam?

All advise is appreciated!!

Get Kathy Sierra's and Bert Bates's SCJP&D book.
The amount of time it takes depends on how much time you can spend each day/week on studying.
If you make it your full time job you could do it in under a month.

Sam,
The K&B (Kathy & Bert) book is an excellent study guide. Both Authors frequent this board too.

Hi, thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!!

Think of how stupid the average person is. And how half of them are stupider than that. But who reads this tiny ad?
