Hi Mr.Mughal,
I was certified under SCJP version 1.2 and planned to upgrade it soon... I just would like know whether your book is suitable for those, who are on the same boat with me....
And one more question! Is it worthy to upgrade it? I got good background in GUI and benefit a lot from it as well, when I was in university... I hope that there is something valuable for me, when I pass SCJP 1.4 as well... Could u suggest me sthing?
Thanks in advance....

The second edition comes with a specific appendix that includes advice on the upgrade exam, including study notes, showing specifically what to study from the book for the upgrade exam.
Is the upgrade exam worthwhile? That depends on your point of view. Although Java 1.2 and Java 1.4 have significant differences, it is debatable whether the update exam adds much value to your knowledge. But having a paper with Java 1.4 on it certainly does.
All the best.

So I guess it is better to take the full exam, rather than the upgrade one...
Here is one more question about your book... As I have experienced in reading many certification books, I found out that most of them contains the quick preparation for the exam in the last part of the book... For example, quick tips for the exam (or) 15 minutes review on the objectives sthing like that...
I don't see it in your book... Is it intentionally omitted or sthing?
Thanks again for your warm reply...

One more question is whether the WhizLabs simulation software is full version or a special version associated with the book...
Coz I found out that many books provide special version of software accompanied with them....
Thanks in advance, Mr.Mughal....

It is a special version associated with the book, which provides the following exams:
PGJC2E Exam
Diagnostic Exam
Practice Exams
Customized Exam
Final Exam
Special SCJP 1.4 Exam
I guess economics dictate that such software is usually a special version.
If the provided exams are not enough and/or you don't want to fork out more money, there are other mock exams freely available on the Internet.
Cheers,
khalid

We opted for including succinct study notes in an appendix (Appendix B) together with the objectives for the exam.

There’s no place like 127.0.0.1. But I'll always remember this tiny ad:
