Iam observing that most of the scjp test takers are from a mid-career field.I doubt whether i cud adapt myself to the test questions as iam not from a work field and didn't have any realtime experience on java programs.
Iam trying my best to prepare effectively . cud u suggest any other means to get a best score.
Also I cudn't find out which r the authentic test centres in india for sun certification.Do let me know. Moreover do those authorised centres have any role to play to enhance the score.

First learn proper spelling and punctuation.
Your English is hard to read and if you have the same trouble reading the English of the exam as I have reading yours you're in for a hard time.
No jibe at people whose first language isn't English (mine isn't and up until the year I graduated highschool I had severe problems with the language so I know where you are) but the exam is in English and questions may well seem different if your understanding of English isn't near perfect.
The exam is especially designed to weed out those whose only interest in it is to get another title on their CVs. As such practical experience using Java in the real world is almost required (though it is I think still possible to make it with only theoretical study, such is not the intention of the exam).

Jeroen, don't be so tough!
English isn't my mother tongue and I could perfectly understand what diwakar said.
I think he's used to talk on chats, where people "save" letters!
By the way, diwakar, what I have to say is that I also don't work with Java but this didn't mean I wasn't able to learn Java and achieve my certification.
I took a Java course one year ago and practiced a lot at home.
At the end of the year I decided to take the SCJP exam and last week I passed with a score of 95%.
So, if you really want to get the certification, study and you'll get it!

hi,

I am one of the user of java ranch. Me too now preparing for the scjp 1.4 version. But I am bit confused with what topics I have to concentrate more and what topics are not needed(if any) from scjp1.2. As you have passed the exam recently can you help in specifying the topics I need to learnt more clearly. If you help me I would be grateful to you

The exam topics are all clearly stated on the Sun certification website.
