Hi!!
I'm planning to take SCJP1.4 and currently I'm using Khalid Mughal's - A Programmer's guide to Java certification 2e. Do I need to refer other books for or is it enough. Will it be helpful if I buy Whizlabs SCJP1.4 simulator.

Thank You.

I can't say whether Khalid's book is sufficient, because I've never read it. I used the Kathy Sierra/Bert Bates book, which is excellent. It not only prepared me for the exam, but it also made me aware of aspects and features of Java that I had not known before.

Good luck with your exam!

I recommend both books.

Kathy Sierra/Bert Bates book is good from a exam preparation perspective but I feel some of the topics are not covered with detailed examples (e.g., nested classes). But otherwise, it is a great book to gear you toward the exam.

Khalid Mughal's book gives more insights of each topic and It is definitely useful beyond SCJP prepration.
