Hi. Do you think we have an increase of salary after certification? Or just a SCEA makes difference?
I'm thinking to apply for a job in Australia in a few months. This post is because of this.

Bye.

SCJP isn't enough ground for higher pay in most countries. At most it will get you past the first screening in the application process for a job.
SCEA might mean you get noticed for a higher scale job, but no certainty.

My salary went up by 1.2% after I got my SCJP, which was the same everyone else in the company got as inflation correction...

I dont think you can expect your salary to hike because of SCJP or SCEA. Most employers base their salaries on experience and domain knowledge. However the certificates can help you get through some phases in the interview process.

Some companies do provide incentives or promotion for attaining certification status. Other than that, I think your salary may take a noticeable increase if you move to another company as your perceived market value may be higher with someone who is actively hiring.

They reimbursed me for the exam, which was more than I expected.

It is depend upon your Manager and your company too........

But i have seen so many guys getting higher salary by showing these certificates. The certification not only help you for hike of you salary but affects your position from difference perspective........
