Hi
If a web server, databse and an applet[Connected to database] all be on same PC, is it possible to connect the applet and db through a URL connection from other PC on LAN or internet?

Your help is appreciated.

It is possible, but you will need to configure the database for external access, and you will have to include the classes needed to get to it in the applet unless the database access classes are going to be running on the server. If the applet does the lookup into the database, I think you'll find the response is quite slow as database connections are time intensive to create. You may want to look at information about 2 and 3 tier architectures, depending on the size of your project.
