Is anyone else having a problem with FireFox and keeping the cookie which is used to show only the new messages in a forum Yellow?

This happends to me a lot, and I wish it didn't. It will mark all messages as unread, even though they have been seen. It might happen when you accidently open up IE for any web page. Then the next time you use FireFox, the cookie is gone or cleared.

Try to configure the Cookie options from Tools--Options--Cookies.

Possible scenarios why this is happening
1) You added JR to your cookie exception list.
2) "Keep Cookies" combo is set to "until i close Firefox".
3) "Allow sites to set cookies" is not set.

None of those scenarios occurred.

It is not everytime that I loose the cookies. It seems only when I open IE before the time I open FireFox.

IE likes to eat a lot of cookies (specially chocolate chip) and therefore firefox gets nothing if IE is in line before firefox.

okay, bad joke... I had this problem few times with firefox. I just lose all cookies and then I have to login to every site I go. But I never realized this has anything to do with IE. I will keep that in mind next time someone eats my cookies.

I've never had that problem. I use Firefox and IE together fairly frequently, but I usually use IE for websites that are specifically aimed at IE users (mostly admin stuff it seems). I'll have to play around and see if I can reproduce the problem.

I have not yet been able to duplicate the problem.
