hi ,
how can i position components in an applet on arbitrary places setBounds(x,y)didn't work plz help

You do it the same as for any container, through its LayoutManager. If you set it to null, you can set the contained components' size and position explicitly using setBounds. Having done this, you now become responsible for whatever happens when a resize of the container occurs
