I have a book A Programmer's Guide to Java Certificationby Khalid A. Mughal and Rolf W. Rasmussen in my hand. It's about 1.4. And I've not used 1.5 features in my ordinary work.

I've not decided which exam to take. I'd like to listen your opions. I want to get a solid understanding of basics of Java thru the exam, not just for the certification. So suggestions on how to learn it steadly is appricated.
