Applet OutOfMemoryError

Hi guys,

I got an error about OutOfMemoryError when the applet tried to read a 10m file. Does anybody know how to enlarge the max memory of applet in client side?

Do the reads yourself:

// psuedocode
int nextByteBuffer = file.read();
if(nextByteBuffer != -1)
{
   int position = 0;//
   byte[] placeToPutThings = new byte[BUFF_SIZE];
   do
   {
      placeToPutThings[position++] = (byte) nextByteBuffer;
   }while( position less than some buffersize );
}
// process some data here and do another file.read with postion reset.

Thank you for your update.
Acctually, we need read several files and their metadata from an xml file. Then upload the files and metadata to the server. The file and metadata should be kept in a format structure. So, we choose XML as container. This error was occurred during constructure XML. Do you have any idea about this error?
