an we call gc() method forcefully?

According to me, we can give a call to this method,
but cant be sure that this method will be executed on our call.

When JRE wants to execute..it will be executed according to garbage collection algorithm....

AM I correct?

The method will execute for sure. Its the gc part that we are not so sure about.

gc methods asks the JVM to run the garbage collection. It is not doing the actual GC work. So the method will execute for sure, whether garbage collection takes place or not is dependent on the JVM.

calling System.gc() does not guarantee the Garbage Collector for sure to run at the time of call ,but sooner or later it will run.Its like telling your dad to have a dinner outside in the weekdays.
