Just wondering! why this.super is not allowed?
'this' refers to the current object, shouldn't 'this.super' refer to the base class.

 
class Parent
{
   public void show(String s) {
    System.out.println("Parent :"+s); 
   }
}
public class Derived extends Parent
{
   public void show(String s)
   {
      System.out.println("Derived :"+s);
     // this.super.show(s);///???
      super.show(s);  //this allowed
   }
   public static void main(String args[])
   {
      Derived d = new Derived();
      d.print("test show");
   }

I think it would be redundant.

For example, when accessing a field, super.field works the same as explicitly casting "this" to its supertype, ((Supertype)this).field. (See JLS - 15.11.2.)
