What does dot com deaths mean for a new Java Programmer? (recently I have been reading a lot about �dot com deaths�, ex: today morning I found this article : http://www2.itworld.com/cma/ett_content_article/0,2849,3165_3164,00.html)

I don't think so-called "Dot Com Deaths" will affect negatively the market for Java Developers....
They are decoupled enough...
