Hi,

Just wanted to share some information so no one gets in the mess i got into!

I had this cd kit for Whizlabs which i got with the book but I could not activate it.
Inspite of typing in the correct License Number I kept getting a Server Response Error.

I finally mailed the Whizlab Customer Support on the id given along with the "Server Response Error" only to get a response saying it was applicable for only two activations and if it has already been activated twice then nothing can be done and that we can offer (only 10%) discount on the purchase of another cd ( as if i would take another risk!).

Was dissappointed to know they could not be of any help.
So all those who are planning to take Whizlabs, Think twice!

I did not like customer care of Whizlabs. I was never informed that the online training had any validity and when I log in I just see 6 months left!

No man you are wrong ...Whizlabs service support is one of the best...when i had some problems like i was unable to login to their online training i sent a mail to them and the problem was rectified within a day...

It is true that their exam simulator can be activated only two times but it is for the security reasons so that others cannot illegaly activate their software... i hope that whizlabs will try to increase the number of activation attempts in the near future.......

Nope, imho their politics really sucks!

Their mock exam suite is really expensive,
and then you only get 2 activations -
I have a pc, a laptop and my company's laptop -
and want to do the exam on each of those pc's.
Also, when I was working on one pc I wanted to transfer my results
to the next pc, so I just copied the entire program folder to the other computer - however the wizlabs software didn't like it too much, and
then I didn't have anymore installations left - I contacted their support,
after some time they actually gave me another licence key, but when I asked for yet another one (for the other laptops) they didn't even bother to reply
with a "no"....

Enthuware support is MUCH more cooperative - e.g. I clicked on the wrong link and ended up with the software for another Test (SCWD or so),
even though I wanted the SCJP test. I wrote them that this was a mistake, and they asked me to go and "buy" the SCJP test, and then they would send me back the money for the first test - I thought this was fair - they had to believe me that I won't use the other test (which I could, cause now I have a valid serial) - and I had to believe them that they will send my money back. They did, and did not not use the SCWD test. Nice folks.
Also, Enthuware software is about 5-6 times cheaper, however, it has many english spelling / grammar errors and also quite a few Java logic errors,
which sometimes makes it hard / anoying to use their test -
however, all in all I would favor Enthuware.

I got the cd with the Khalid Mughal book.

I just think they should atleast inform the customers that only two activations are applicable and about the validity and whatever is required.
So we don't come to know them after "experimenting" and making mistakes and end up throwing away the expensive stuff we put our money in.

(To my knowledge) I dont think all such details were given anywhere.

And then they so happily tell you "Sorry we cannot do anything about it!"
Like you are getting it for free..and can get another one!

I believe that the title of this post is misleading. If the book you bought is not from Whizlab, then you have the author of the book to blame because he only provided two activations with the CD. But again, I doubt that the author did not specify this somewhere.
