Friends i have just started with the preparation for SCJP1.5. I am following the K&B book. I only had a training in Java and have never rally worked on Java. Can any of you please suggest me how much timw should i be taking for the exam?

It depends on how fast you finish the book and grasp the concepts. Mock exams after book completion will be a better way to judge yourself. You can see more FAQ ScjpFaq

one month is enough if you spend 4-5 hours per day.

It depends on person to person and no one but you will be able to tell how much time it will need. So keep on practising and take the exam when you are confident enough.

But generally speaking, 2 months is sufficient and it can be less if you have an hands off experience in Java.
