i have set the CLASSPATH in the environmental variables for jess.jar

import jess.* is working if i am using java in command promt.

the same i tryed in eclipse and NetBeans i am getting the same error.

how to set CLASSPATH in eclipse and NetBeans or i have to copy the jess.jar to any of the package of eclipse and NetBeans.

I use Eclipse, so I can tell you how it works in Eclipse:

Right-click your project, choose Properties in the popup menu, select Java Build Path, click on the tabsheet Libraries, use the buttons "Add JARs..." (if the JAR file is in your project) or "Add External JARs..." (if the JAR file is not in your project) to add the JAR to your library.

Read the documentation of Eclipse and NetBeans.
