I would like to know if anybody out there would be interested in establishing a sort of "JAVA Job Seekers Support Group" for all those looking in NEW YORK CITY area. The purpose of this group would be to exchange job search tips and leads in order to help fellow JAVA programmers. I thought about it long and hard and I came to the following conclusion: some of us are actually getting some job interviews - some interviews go better, some go not so good. So if you know for sure that the company will not hire you, why not share your "job lead" with other people looking ? What is not the right opportunity for you, may be a good opportunity for someone else - think about it. Interested parties please reply to this posting and I'll set something up.
Great idea! You might be able to piggy back on JUG meetings, or Unemployment Office events. I'll actually be in NYC from Aug 8 until sometime between the 14th or 21st. If you hold something then, I'll join you. --Mark
Agnes I thought about exact the same idea when our company shutdown last year, however, I found my job almost immediately. I practised this only once. Now, the job market is much worse than early last year. The idea will be a lot more useful, until you find a job, of course! Keep it going, and let us know! Good luck to everybody! Roseanne
