Hi all, I'm using Apache which is running in windows2000 to process my jsp and servlet pages. For some requests, my apache server abruptly shuts down with the following error message in the error log file. can anybody help me in sorting the problem [Wed Jan 09 20:57:50 2002] [crit] (10038)An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket: Parent: WSADuplicateSocket failed for socket 144. [Wed Jan 09 20:57:50 2002] [error] (2)No such file or directory: master_main: create child process failed. Exiting. [Wed Jan 09 20:58:50 2002] [error] forcing termination of child #0 (handle 684)
This is the wrong place to ask (JavaRanch has an Apache-Tomcat forum) and you haven't really supplied enough information. Is this Apache 1.3 or 2.0? The error message is a Windows error, so I'd look up code 144, but considering that Apache is a very reliable piece of software and not prone to fail in strange ways, unless you get an obvious explanation from what Windows error code 144 is, you might want to check the bug tracker at http://www.apache.org and maybe file a bug report.
"privilege" comes from the Latin words for "private" and "law" (legal) and dates to feudal times. To "claim privilege" meant that you were above the laws that applied to the common people.
