Folks, what are some of the best approaches to network in tech field? Also, Are there any good user groups for Java/J2EE in Baltimore, Washington DC, PA, NJ area? I've never really been associated with any user group and am interested in joining one and talking to people in the same field. What goes on in user groups? Any insights etc would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, start by keeping an eye on the Events Forum. There's you can learn about useful things like JUGS. If you ask around the people you meet, you can find other types of users groups: wireless, Linux, mobile, medical, etc. That's what's great about networking, it's like dominoes where one connection leads to the next.
