Hi,
Most of us knew Mastering EJB book. Its author and notable personality Ed Roman has left the J2EE or Enterprise computing industry in favour of video game industry. He is one of the pioneers in EJB and an evangelist.

I think he has taken a good decision.Video game industry is alot exciting which requires a lot of creativity than making session/entity bean.People like him should be there instead of in enterprise computing. This kind switching is nothing new.You will find many people who had worked in business computing gave up and joined either these kind of things or theoretical computer science in acedemics which they find challenging.

This is not news. Ed did this well over a year ago (he informed me of this at the last ServerSide conference). A big part of this was that he cashed out when he sold the Middleware Company (in other words, he made a LOT of money from his stock) -- part of that included a non-compete clause, which means he couldn't go back into the same business. I've talked with Ed personally about this and the reason he says he did it is that he just enjoys videogame programming -- he doesn't have to make a living at it, he's just doing something he enjoys.

Thanks for the clarification Kyle.
Eventhen, I would miss 'Mastering EJB' third edition without Ed !
(I hope Scott and Tyler will be able to fill the gap.)
