Swings are used for GUI rich applications. It normally works as an independent application.

While JSP and Servlets are for Web applications. Mainly oriented toward thin client - heavy server architecture.

So the business objective helps us to choose which architecture is the best.

Hi Shailendra,

Can you point to the purpose? Because, comparison is difficult with two different APIs (while they have their own different characteristics)....If you want to ask in terms of Applet and JSP/Servlet then now-a-days applet is outdated and it takes time to to JSP page...but still depends upon ur requirement you can use Applet...
