Tag library usage

Hi,

I have some textfields in my html page & i want to validate that fields for blank values or for wrong values using custom tags built by me in jSP.

So please tell me how it would be possible??

Are you sure you want (can?) to do this with custom tags ?
This sounds like more Javascript or server side stuff.

Actually i have implemented that validations in javascript but now i want to do that validations using my own tags so is it possible or there is some problem in doing that??

I think that tags will act at response time,
but you want to check the validity of the field at request time.

Tags are used mostly for writing or modifying outgoing text.
Server side validation is generally done in a servlet or bean.
