To give you a gross estimate your salary will be Rs.(yrs. of exp +1)Lakh. This is a figure I have arrived on purely empirical basis, though most of the times it comes close to the actual figure.
One more thing, people who have experience in US / UK are not considered to be very good on processes by the companies out here. I do not know how much of this is true but I have heard this. So they might just get a little less than their Indian counterparts.

What do you mean not good in processes ?
Can you give an example, ya hypothetical...

I'm working for a CMM% &PCMM 5 company in mumbai.
I'm having around 3 yrs of experience in Java/J2EE. I've done Post Graduation in Comp Sci. (MCA) but basically a commerce graduate.
I'm getting around Rs.2,50,000/-p.a.
But as mentioned by Jagdish, I've people around me with the same profiles or may be even with less experience than me are getting more than me.

So whats your opinion, if tomorrow you get chance to come to US will you not take it because that will make you not "good in processes" like others?

Mike,
If I get a chance to come to US I will definitely take that. It would help me to earn lots of "$$" and also will enrich my experience.
About the processes being followed in US companies. I would form my opnion after working there myself. seems resonable.. doesn't it ??

Jagdish Reddy: This is too much.
Me: What???
JR: In IT industry no two persons will get same sal even though they are working for same company.
Me: When did i say that that is the case.
JR: Its all depends how you bargain your sal.
Me: Exactly, and u need data to bargain effectively.
