Hi,

I have deployed my application on tomcat server. one of the JSP contains respective links for both Winzip file and a PDF file.

When user clicks on the link provided for

1. Winzip file, an Open / Save dialog box pops up.
2. PDF file, the file gets opened automatically without an open / Save dialog box.

How to get an Open / Save dialog box when clicked on the link provided for PDF file also?

Thanks,
Susmitha.

Hi,

that behavior has nothing to do with the links or your JSPs. If you click on a HTML link your browser gets data of certain content type. Everything that follows depends on your browser and browser settings.

If you want a save/open dialog box, you can suggest that the browser open one by setting the Content-Disposition response header.

Use the "attachment" attribute, not "inline".
