update query not working properly, using jsp

loStatement.executeUpdate(query_table2);
loStatement.executeUpdate(query_table3);
 
if the above query is executed successfully 
setAutoCommit(true);
then execute update on table4(by taking values from table1)
 
update table4 a set ( a.address ) = ( select b.address from table b where a.obj_id = b.wh_obj_id and b.obj_id='" + userid1 + "') where a.OBJ_ID = '" + whid + "'" ;

when i execute the update query in oracle, its working fine(i.e, the query is fine)

But when i am using this JSP code the address field which i am updated is null.

Check for your Quotes in the query

You also haven't show us where you're declaring or populating the userid1 variable.
