I have got an offer from Accenture and they are sending me to Accenture Delivery Center, Vikhroli, Mumbai.
They didn't give me an option to choose locations.

Is it possible to find an economical place to live close to this region?
Mumbai Ranchers please give some information .

I am not now in Mumbai, But I can recommend:
1)Mulund (W) or (E)
2)Thane(W)or (E)
Accenture is off LBS marg,right? on same road towards Thane,lot of constructions are going on,you can enquire there.For rent,Mulund(W) is better option.1BHK for 5000Rs was the rate last year I heard.

Even I am not now in Mumbai. But I can say you can try in Powai also along with Mulund and Thane. My friends are paying Rs 6,000 for 1 BHK in Powai. I guess Thane will be little bit cheaper as compare to Mulund and Powai. If you are bachelor better to go for sharing basis.

You can stay somewhere near Airoli or Powaii. These are the reasonably priced places and closure to Accenture Vikhroli office. Alternately you can look for Mulund or Andheri area. But that increases your commute time. Good thing about Accenture, their buses cover almost every corner of Mumbai.

I am already in Accenture vikhroli office.

Do they have their own bus service? I was thinking about buying a bike/scooter for commuting. But if they have a bus service, that would solve the travelling problem I guess.

In mumbai most of people wont prefer travelling on bike/scooter due to heavy traffic, pollution and distance. Heavy rains during moonsoon is also one of the reason. If it is long distance you can catch up local trains otherwise there are good no of city buses for short distances.

It is a common practive that you need to pay 11 months of rent as Deposit.

Just wanted to know more about Accenture's bus facility because I wasn't aware that Accenture has bus facilty for employees and thought that I'd have to make my own arrangements (may be by city buses or local trains).
If they provide such facilty then I guess that'll be a great help, as I have heard a lot of horror stories about Mumbai local trains and was really reluctant about moving to Mumbai just because of that.
Is it available for all the Accenture employees?

Yes I repeat, the bus service covers almost all corners of Mumbai. There are buses towards Churchgate, Belapur, Thane, Andheri, Bandra, Chembur etc etc. The buses are there for morning as well as evening.

In fact most sizeable cos in Mumbai have a bus service. But few have as extensive as Accenture. And it is available for all employees.

The bus service is free. I have not yet paid a single paise from my pocket for this.
