This question is for the ranchers in America.

Whats the situation in your respective organizations with respect to pay raise. In my organization they have ranged from 2-4%, with me getting 3.5%.

I have been a good performer and have been proactive, however when I asked my boss, I was told that this is the range of the raises.I know that the market in some areas is getting better, but would want to know if people are seeing 10%+ raises.

Not that I did not expect this, but in case you are interested in salary trends in India, there are loads of them on this forum. You could use the search feature or there is a lot of info on monsterindia.

Please do not hijack this thread(before it takes off) and start your own in case you need it.

Apreciate your time.

I will agree with Mr ab parashar. It leads topic diversion and the owner of the thread may not get information what he is looking.

2 of my friends who are in US got around 5% jumps in their salary this year.

What is the market rate for a Sr. Java Developer in Southern California area? Salary.com says 103k is median? Is that true?

Raise of 3.5% is pretty good at this time. Expecting more than 5% raise in any job is "too much to ask". Typically a job change can bring as much as 15% raise.

Guess its what my prof. told me at school...."The only way to get a big raise is to change your employer".....but the problem arises if you have no problem with your employer except your wages.....while money might be a big reason to work its not the only reason.....but the truth is that I have been stuck around the same figure for the last 4 years....and they justified it by saying that I should be thankful that I have a job......

I don't like that guy. The tiny ad agrees with me.
