Stored procedures in DB2/WAS

Hi,
I'm new with DB2. Does DB2 use some kind of own
approach in it's stored procedures?
Does DB2 really need a Java or C compiler when it is using stored procedures (not only SQL and script language)?

It depends on what stored procedure u r running...Whether java stored procedure or cobol batch programs or what...based on this we can answer ur question
