accenture or Sungard

Hi,

I am geting offers from Sungard/Accenture-mumbai. Could any body advice me on which one to select??? Money wise sungard is better than accenture. I am looking for long-term association with the company and most important Job security...

Any info and advice will be really helpful for me.

If you want to add a International brand Name to Your Career, Accenture is great, I dont know much about the other company.

I dont know much about Sungard, but one of my friend working there since 1.5 years. He is happy working there.

I personally avoid Accenture. There are many threads here to explain why.

Thanks for this inputs....but in a longer term, sungard does not have enough stregth for growing or grabbing big projects, will the personal growth be possible ??? its a threat to job security as well....At accenture its all trusted and proven....its well grown in india...only thing i feel is pune envirnment which goes in sungard favour..(but not for those who wants to settle in mumbai...)

What made you to say sungard cant grab big projects? The smaller in manpower the chances for personal growth. Its easier to reach topmanagement and easier to proof yourself to them. True Accenture well grown in India interms of manpower. Its big ocean interms of manpower and you wont know where you will be and its not so easier even to reach your project manager.

Well...its looks to be a Good Company. The fact that it was established in pune in 1993 as ACS and then in 2000 it became sungard. By then till now they grew to 250+. but offshore does not have many clients, as it looks to be a product maintainance company. what if the product i support does not retain its demand and ppl...shifts to some other products...will they be able to shift me to some other area...they just have 250 odd ppl..don;t know how many of them are really busy....as compare to accenture they will be having a problem for meeting clients requirements and running short of resource....after say 3 yrs, by any reason if i plan to shift the company...not to sure what will be state of this 2 companies and their brands but as of now accenture had brand name with it...

please advice.

You are thinking much about sungard. Its easier to grow with product based companies as you work on a product for long term. As you said sungard is in India since 1993 that means they should have some stable products. So no question not doing well all products in the market. May be if one product fails it wont affect with job secruity. If market is not good Accenture will be more aggressive in layoffs.

But if you just need brand name then Accenture is better for brand name.

Sungard is very good company. And they have some product development also from their U.S branches. my suggestion is sungard is better than accenture. Anyway u need to ask Hr,in which project they will put u in...

it could be enhancement work from offshore. My only hinch is they may not have many processes in place..like CMM/ISO etc..as they don;t worry for going for other customers..Sungard itself would give them enough work for current strngth..not a brand name for attracting more employees...as accenture...if you say "working for accenture" , it means that resource will be professinal in his approach. sungard on other hand is global and big..but not at offshore..i wish one fine day they also become like any grown MNC in india...
