Hello All,

Would really appreciate all the expert comments and views on the following
from all of you...

I am currently working in a company(Pune India) which solely works in Oracle Pl-sql with front end as Developer 2000 and a very small team working in JAVA.I am much eager to work in JAVA.But when I joined the company(as a fresher) I din have a choice and had to work in plsql as I had received training in it.I am having around 2 years of experience in PlSql now.I tried in my company to switch over to the JAVA team but my current PM did not allow me to be a part of the JAVA team.In all I just wanted to ask whether I should do some JAVA certifications and go for a job switch
as I have very basic knowledge of JAVA(no real working knowledge) will the certification count and atleast give me some room to work on JAVA+plsql combi. Please do pour in with suggestions as to how could I make the transition to JAVA...

Hi sagar,

Yes certifications definitely give you chance to gain java knowledge and prove yourself. It will help you to answer tricky java questions in interviews.

If you are very much interested in developing something in java. you could work on some open-source java projects.

Regards,
Raja.
