I am currently working in Yahoo ...I would like to jump from Yahoo to some services company like TCs or Infy..Obviously the pay will be less than what I get here in Yahoo...So can I demand that I would join only if I am promised that I will be sent onsite for a long term project(around 2 years)??

Does it sound stupid???or is there any better way to put across my demand??because I haven't gone to any country before and I desperately want to go abroad...

Quitting a giant like your employer in just 7 months after completing your education will spoil your resume in the long run. Think about it.
Moreover no employer would guarantee onsite chances for someone who has just 7 months of experience. Even if someone does, I would not take it seriously.

Never think interms of money, onsite or something else. All this things will come as you get more experience. Quitting a company in 7 months just for the reason of onsite is not at all advisable, it will create a bad remark. Now days many company's are giving more weightage for attitude. My advise is atleast try complete 2 years then you can try for otpions as per your requirements.

Good luck

But when I look at people in Tcs and infy I am tempted..People in infy, tcs, satyam etc are globe trotting the earth....They go to places like japan,Switzerland,UK,US etc..whereas I am daily trotting between Malleswaram and MG Road in BMTC bus....(This kind of routine rerally sucks)If I continue in this company I can visit all these places only in my dream...
I have decided to go services company.I have forwarded my resume to my friends in Tcs,Satyam and cts...and I am expecting interview calls soon...
Please say which among the three is good purely from onsite perspective...??

Sorry to say but the whole idea sounds stupid (no offence). For me it is hard to imagine why someone would quit Yahoo after seven months just for getting some onsite opputunities (again no offence). Remember these onsite chances would not give you a green card or make you a permanent resident of the host country. It is just for some months. And it is not like first they will send you to US and then you come back to India for 2 weeks and then move to Japan. You might have to wait (2 years? depending on the company) between different onsite oppurtunities.

I think a good number of people working in the companies you have mentioned would happily switch to Yahoo, if given the oppurtunity, especially with such a good salary.

Personally I would have worked in Yahoo for 3-5 years and then apply for US/UK jobs directly from India. I think in five years you would have good chances of getting a job abroad (with chances of getting green card/permanent residency status).

I agree with you Ali Hussain.

Raghu comparing will never work and always leave you unhappy position. Even if you join TCS, Infosy you may not get onsite immediately. It may take minimum 1 year and more to go onsite.

Try to work in Yahoo atleast for 2 years, then think about other options to reach your dreams.

Raghu,
I have a suggestion for you.

Why don't you just assume that you are working for TCS for 3 lacks. Now you have another 4 lacks left for you to travel the world. You get an extra benefit of not forced to do any work when you are on sight seeing trip.

These stats are just misleading. I am in the USA currently. It depends on your pay package, location and a lot of other factors. Not every Indian here saves $2500 every month. YOu have to deal with significant expenses like rent, auto loans, taxes (Unless you plan to live in cramped up apartments with 3 other people and eat rajma-chawal everyday).

If you're getting a package of 65k+, then it makes sense (btw, even that is less for a city like NY, SF). Then again, you have to deal with the possibility of lay-offs. Its not a bed of roses here as you make it sound.

Stick to Yahoo..you're one of the lucky few to get into a giant like Yahoo. Sooner or later you'll travel. As for on-site, well, go to Thomas Cook and sign up for a tour of Singapore-KL-Bangkok. That will suit your wallet too!

All the best
