I am experienced in J2EE development, I am now thinking to enter in some other technical area probably SAP, I heard that to learn and enter into SAP line one should have domain knowledge. Is it true? How can I fit into SAP line with this J2EE background. I have around 3.5 years of experience in J2EE.
As far as offshore SAP work is concerned, most of it involves ABAP(Advanced Business Application Programming) coding.Yes,there are functional consultants in SAP.SAP projects are generally long duration and serve very big(Fortune 500)clients. Most of the time, guys 'entering' SAP start with ABAP coding and then move on to become functional consultants onsite.
SAP Netweaver portal(Enterprise portal) is based on Servlets,JSP.Working knowledge on j2ee is enough to learn Netweaver portal.Sap provides added plugin to eclipse IDE called Netweaver developer studio. Most of code is system generated. You can visit the sitewww.sdn.sap.com [ March 14, 2006: Message edited by: Suresh Naidu ]
