Hi Narayana,
I would advise you to be cautious when you are being asked to pay for your H-1 processing fee. You dont have a guaranteed project when you come down to the US and there might be problems during visa interview on this. Also does US Tech offer you to reimburse the money if your visa is not cleared ? Get these info from the company before they put in your papers or before you sign anything with them. Coz most of the consulting companies (especially run by Indians - sorry to state this!) get ppl from India and beef up their resume to get projects (inflate a 2+ yr exp guy as a 5+ yr exp person)...be mentally prepared for these before you commit to anything!
Good Luck!
Ganpi
P.S: Dont get me wrong - US Tech might be a good employer after all, but there are lotsa fake consulting companies out there and ultimately its you who has to make a wise decision!
