i have set ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE in connection's prepareCall method along with the query. i got the resultset using callable statement's getObject() method. the resultset is 'forward only'. why?

Are you using JDBC 2.0 gfunctionality ?

You could use the method DatabaseMetaData.supportsResultSetType for making sure that your JDBC supports your resultset ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE
