But when I open the CloudscapeDB , it gives me following error :
Database access resulted in SQL exception:

need more info...
1. which ver of cloudscape... J2EE, Weblogic, or informix version?
2. what operating system are you using?
3. does your classpath contain: cloudscape.jar tools.jar client.jar, & RmiJdbc.jar from a cloudscape lib.

I'm using J2EE(j2sdkee1.2.1) server and the cloudscape version is 3.6.1 on my NT machine at work.
My classpath also contains cloudscape.jar,tools.jar,client.jar, & RmiJdbc.jar files.
I have run the CloudscapeSimpleApp in embedded mode in my J2EE and Cloudscape dir....
I have also run without a problem java COM.cloudscape.tools.cview CloudscapeDB in my J2EE and Cloudscape dir ...
I'm stumped...
Please review the following... Hope this helps

Try putting the following stuff in a batch file eg a.bat and execute this batch file. Note that the entire stuff should be in a single line. Delete all the <CR> when you copy and paste. Ofcourse before executing the batch file, set the J2EE_HOME and JAVE_HOME.
a.bat :
c:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java -Dcloudscape.system.home=%J2EE_HOME%\cloudscape\ -classpath %J2EE_HOME%\lib\cloudscape\tools.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\cloudscape\cloudscape.jar;%J2EE_HOME%\lib\cloudscape\license.jar;%CLASSPATH%\ -ms16m -mx32m COM.cloudscape.tools.cview
