Hi,
I know somebody else had posted the same question. Since there was no reply for that, I am reposting the question.
When I try to deploy an application using deploy tool , it gives me the following error.
--------------------------------------------------------------
There was a deployment error.
java.rmi.ServerException:RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.RemoteException: Error saving/opening
Deployment Error: Bad mapping of key {0} to class {1}, not found: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.xml.ApplicationNode.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I use jdk1.3 and j2sdkee1.3.
Any answer deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you able to start j2ee server and cloudscape? If the answer is yes, then you should be able to start deploytool.

yes, I am able to start J2EE and cloudscape. Infact I can even start deploytool and create new JAR, WAR and EAR files. The problem occurs only when I try to deploy the application. Specifically in the deployment progress bar.

I noticed this statement:
Deployment Error: Bad mapping of key {0} to class {1}, not found:
in the error message. May be it is the clue. Without going through the process with you, I am uncertain about what exactly cause the problem.

Here's what I did.
Opened Deploytool. Created a new application hello.ear in the C:\ directory. Used ant to compile the jsp pages i created. Then created a new web component (WAR) and added the compiled jsp pages. then selected deploy. The process beginswith the deployment and then probably after 5-10% of deployment, spits the given error.

Have you tried using non-compiled JSP's?
