How To Sponsor H1 Candidates

I am an IC right now and I do a lot of J2EE work. I've worked with a lot of Indian programmers and I know a lot of good H1 candidates looking for work here in the States. If I want to expand from an IC to a real consulting company and bring on some of these guys, how do I get permission from the government to sponsor them? Where do I even begin to look to research this?

Also...I am not talking about Wipro specifically. I am talking about H1 candidates. Most of Wipro's people working in the US aren't H1B status - or else they wouldn't be working for Wipro much longer

Do you mean they are tied to Wipro through kind of non-transferable visa like L1, while with H1B transfer possibility they would have quitted quickly because (possibly) Wipro sucks ?

No offense to anyone, just wondering because I have not faintest idea of implicit meaning of your remark for lack of knowledge about this matter.

Yes...that's pretty much what I mean. I've never heard any Wipro employees praising their company and I think that given the chance the Wipro people that I had worked with would have gladly jumped ship if it weren't for the Visa issues.

For H1 candidate ,simple way is to contact immigration attorny .
Process generally starts with Labor approval ( either fax or on line) followed by I 129 submission to USCIS .

Attorny guides you in more appropriate manner , actully you really dont need , they will send you all templates and work involved is mostly clerical but its good to start with attorny .

Regarding candidates you have option to contact some Indian firm who can do recruitment for you . OR you can directly post requirement on Web sites lime Monster India , Naukri etc . and find out a person who understand specic countries eductaion system and some basic knowledge about industry in foreign country other then technology .
