Hi Friends,

I want to know about the creditability of CDC Software and Ascent Computing Group - New Jersey.

They have offered me $ 55K PA on H1B. Shall I go for this offer? Work location would be around New Jersey.

Thanks!
Akash

Akash,
55K per annum is very low in New Jersey. Its an expensive place. Try asking for 70k plus or look for other jobs.

Akash,
Well i havent lived there so i dont know what the tax rate is. I guess it should be around 30 percent of your annual salary. The appartments there cost atleast 1000-1200 a month. I think you should accept a job there if you get more than 70k at the very minimum. However it depends on your situation. If you are desperate to join this job and if the company seems to be ok and if you are single you could take it. Try to find out more about this company. Look at their website. See if they have advertised for jobs in monster.com,dice.com etc. That's one of the ways to find out if the company has a lot of clients.

Do not be fooled by free foods that they provide while you are on bench.

Under the H-1B laws, benching is strictly prohibited. Your employer must continuously pay you the salary indicated in the H-1B Labor Condition Application.

Otherwise, you become an illegal alien. If someone report you to the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services), you will be kicked out of the country.

In this case it is the responsibility of body shoppers to pay whe wages specified in the LCA...Then how come the H1B Applicant becomes Illegal Alien.
